Year 2 vines get pruned to a single dominant cane. The ones in front keep getting nibbled by bunnies so added a grow tube for protection.
 
 
We are trying to save 3 ash trees (61 diameter inches) with a neonicotinoid pesticide called Safari.   Here is an application calculator if you are a do-it-yourselfer. We also took down five ash trees. Little spindly things. Only 90 more to go.
 
 
The last frost date, and official start of gardening season in Central Indiana, is Mother's Day. We celebrated with adirondeck chairs, impatiens, and a long day in the garden.
